CRAWFISH FROG Lithobates (Rana) areolata Baird & Girard, 1852   

STATUS:  Rare

DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Ellis, Hunt, and Kaufman.

HABITAT:  Blackland Prairie and Post Oak Belt

COMMENTS:  The crawfish frog is probably much more common than most realize, owing to its secretive and subterranean habits.
